‘Being named as one of the 100 Most Sustainable Corporations globally, differentiates us from our competitors and is an accolade we deeply value” says Graham.
Ranking the top 100
Toby Heaps, Editor-in Chief of Corporate Knights Magazine says, “By using clear metrics to show investors which companies stand out from their peers, we hope to create a virtuous cycle where the most sustainable companies attract the most capital and earn the best returns.”
Only nine Australian companies were listed in the Global 100 for 2010.
To determine this year’s global list out of a possible 3000 contenders, companies were ranked transparently by a set of ten objective sustainability indicators.
In addition to social indicators such as the decision to incorporate sustainability in Executive performance indicators and diversity of board directors, the 2010 Global 100 established and measured companies against their approach to minimise their environmental impacts in the area of energy, carbon, water and waste.
