2. From 15 November the following requirements will apply to avoid the Monthly Service Fee:
(a) For Westpac Choice accounts opened before 15 November 2008:
(i) If there is a $3,000 minimum monthly balance in the account, the Monthly Service Fee will be waived. OR
(ii) on request, ^athe customer can elect to take advantage of (b)(ii) below, which would take effect from the first day of the following month after the account has been updated by Westpac.

(b) For Westpac Choice accounts opened from 15 November 2008:
(i) If there is a $3,000 minimum monthly balance in the account the Monthly Service Fee will be waived. OR
(ii) If the account does not have a minimum monthly balance of $3000, the Monthly Service Fee will be charged, though if a minimum of $2,000 in deposits is made ^b 'between the 1st business day of the month and the last business day of the month', the Monthly Service Fee will be rebated. ^c
a To make such request, please visit any branch and ask for your account to be updated. This update may take up to 5 working days to take effect.
b To qualify the deposit must be customer initiated.
c A rebate occurs on the same day the fee is charged.
