How does it work?
Westpac now offers you the option to view your statements online (estatements) instead of receiving paper statements (for eligible accounts). Statements from the previous seven years can be viewed free in Westpac Online Banking.
To stop receiving paper statements, sign in to Westpac Online Banking and click on the 'Banking' tab. Under the 'Main Menu' go to 'Your Details' and select the 'Statement Options' tab, then choose 'Email notification'.
How often will I receive an email notification?
Each time your statement becomes available, you will receive an email notification for each account you register for this service. The frequency of emails depends on your account statement cycle. For example, if you have a Westpac One package on a monthly statement cycle, you will receive an email notification once a month.
How do I view my estatements?
To view your estatement, sign in to Westpac Online Banking and select the relevant account from the 'Accounts' screen, then select the 'Statement' tab to view your most recent statement.
From the 'Statement' screen you can view statements for the previous seven years, free. You can also print a statement in the same format as a standard paper statement.
Will my estatement look the same as the paper one I receive in the mail?
No, your estatement will be in a different format, but it will contain the same information as your paper statement. It is legally acceptable, even for record keeping purposes. You can also print a statement in the same format as a standard paper statement. Note that estatements for Westpac One will not display graphs or charts.
Can I stop receiving paper statements for joint accounts?
Yes, any joint account holder can stop receiving paper statements. Consent is not required from each joint account holder to change preferences. For credit card accounts, only the primary cardholder can choose to stop receiving paper statements.
More than one account holder can receive email notifications, or you can nominate just one account holder to receive them.
How do I know if I have any accounts eligible to receive estatements?
Your eligible accounts will be displayed on the 'Statement Options' screen. Any account you hold that is ineligible will not appear.
You can choose to stop receiving paper statements for the following accounts:
Savings and transaction accounts
